Virginia Gov. Glenn Youngkin will be the keynote speaker at the spring start of the University of Regent.

This was announced on Monday by the University, founded by Christian broadcaster Pat Robertson in Virginia Beach.

The graduation is scheduled for May 7, before more than 2,300 graduates are expected.

William Hathaway is the school’s executive vice president of education.

In a statement, he said the governor is “a huge example of a Christian leader changing the world.”

In November, Yangkin became the first Republican to serve in the state in a decade.

The former Carlyle Group CEO and political newcomer has confidently held on to the conservative platform.

He defeated former Virginia Gov. and Democrat Terry McAuliff.
