SUARTS DRAFT – One person was injured Monday morning after a van crashed into an Augusta County school bus, Virginia State police said.
Shortly before 8 a.m., police responded to a crash of two cars in the 200th quarter of Howardsville Turnpike in the Stuarts Draft.
Police said a school bus was stopped and loaded with students when an 2013 malfunction occurred in a 2013 Chrysler Town and Country minibus and crashed into a bus behind.
Lights and a sign were included in the bus, police said.
No one was injured in the bus, the students were transferred to another bus.
The driver of the minibus was taken to hospital for treatment of injuries that were not considered life-threatening, police said.
The investigation into the disaster continues.
The news leader repeatedly unsuccessfully contacted public schools in August County on Monday for more information about the crash.
