VDH launches text and voice alerts encouraging residents to get COVID boosters

RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) — Starting Monday next week, Central Virginia Health District residents age 50 and older will be sent text and voice messages encouraging them to get a bivalent COVID-19 booster.

Virginia Department of Health (VDH) notifications will also alert residents if they are eligible for revaccination based on their immunization records. It will also list places where free accelerators are available and provide resources for making appointments.

Residents do not need to wait for this notification to receive their bivalent booster. Eligible persons can make an appointment online or call 434-477-5974.
