U.S. Navy: 4 people killed in helicopter contractor crash in Hawaii

HANOLULU (AP) – The U.S. Navy says four people have died in a helicopter crash of a contractor on the Hawaiian island of Kauai.

The Pacific landfill says the plane crashed on the north side of the installation shortly after 10 p.m.

The names of those killed are still unknown.

The helicopter was operated by Croman Corp. to support the training operation.

The National Transport Safety Council said on Twitter that the agency was investigating the crash of a Sikorsky S-61N helicopter.

The missile test site says an investigation will be conducted to find out the cause of the crash.
