Teller, Gleason, Megan Thee Stallion host first ‘SNL’ shows

NEW YORK – Directed from “Top Gun: Maverick,” actor Miles Teller will host the first episode of the 48th season of “Saturday Night Live” on October 1.

Pulitzer Prize winner Kendrick Lamar will be the musical guest on the premiere, his third appearance on “SNL,” NBC announced Tuesday.

It promises to be a season of transition for the NBC comedy institution, which has seen eight cast members depart.

Actor Brendan Gleeson, star of the upcoming Banshee of Inishreen, will host the October 8 show. Willow will make her “SNL” debut as the musical guest.

Megan Thee Stallion will pull double duty as host and musical guest on Oct. 15, NBC announced Tuesday.

The Lorne Michaels-produced show is without cast members Pete Davidson, Kate McKinnon, Aidy Bryant, Christopher Redd, Alex Moffat, Kyle Mooney, Aristotle Atari and Melissa Villaseñor this season.

The series named four new cast members as replacements.
