Specially for the Register & Bee
Annie Stone, a certified nursing assistant at Sovah Health-Danville, was recently honored with The BEE Award for Extraordinary Employees.
The BEE award is a way of saying thank you to the staff at Sovah Health who have provided an ‘exceptional experience’.
Stone has worked as a Certified Nursing Assistant for 18 years and has made a huge impact on patients and the organization.
She was nominated for the award by a patient who said Stone was a true blessing to her during her recovery, both physically and emotionally.
She stated that Stone performed all her tasks willingly and with a smile, gentleness and a caring heart.
“Annie is a true asset to the Sovah Health team and deserves the highest praise for her excellent care and service. This kind of care helps a person to start the path of recovery – not only physical, but also emotional, which is often much more important.” The patient said that Annie really changed her life and she will always remember her kindness.

The BEE Award was created to recognize support staff who consistently go the extra mile for patients and their families. Along with the DAISY Award, which recognizes nursing staff, the BEE Award recognizes non-nursing staff who provide exceptional teamwork. BEE award winners exemplify the Petal Principles and reflect excellence through expertise and compassionate care.
The Petal Principles include showing passion in the care they provide every day, connecting with patients and their support system, working as a team, always creating the best experience, showing love for their work and showing respect. Each recipient will be recognized at a public ceremony in their department and will receive a certificate of achievement, a plaque, a pin to wear on their badge, and snacks to share with colleagues.
“Annie has spent many years at our hospital caring for our community,” said Brian Bradley, Chief Nursing Officer at Sovah Health-Danville. “We are very grateful to have her on our team where she truly makes a difference in our mission. As shown today, it has a huge impact on the lives of our patients and promotes positive healing. It was an honor and well deserved to present her with the BEE Award for Outstanding Employees.”
