Some cell phone users are experiencing a 911 shutdown in some areas of the New River Valley

According to the Giles County Sheriff’s Office, those who use AT&T mobile phones cannot currently call 911 in Giles, Montgomery or Pulaski counties.

It was originally reported that the 911 problem was occurring in Giles County; however, according to Giles County 911 County Director of Service Gip Skip Vaughn, the problem is now occurring in two other counties.

Those with AT&T wishing to contact the Giles County Sheriff’s Office are currently encouraged to call the Pulaski County Sheriff’s Office at 540-980-7800 or NRV 911 at 540-382-4343 until further notice.
