ROCKINGHAM COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) — The Rockingham County Sheriff’s Office has confirmed that one person has died in a plane crash that happened in the county Wednesday night.
Rockingham County Sheriff Brian Hutcheson said the pilot, who was the sole occupant of the small single-engine plane, was killed in the crash.
The plane crashed around 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 11, in the Union Springs area of Rockingham County, located in the heart of the Shenandoah Valley.
Hutcheson says the Federal Aviation Administration and Virginia State Police are investigating the incident.
