Silver Line Theater Exchange presents 12 Angry Jurors

  • Courtroom Drama is the first high school production in the entire valley in the black box space in downtown Staunton.

STAUNTON — Silver Line Theater Exchange presents “12 Angry Jurors” by Reginald Rose, opening February 3rd. This play is as relevant today as it was when it was first published in 1954, the main theme of this play is prejudice and prejudice in the jury room.

The action of the play unfolds after the closing arguments in the trial about the murder. As the 12-member jury must deliberate – a guilty verdict means death for the accused, an inner-city teenager. While dozens of jurors try to reach a unanimous decision while in the room, one juror casts serious doubt on elements of the case. Personal issues quickly come to the surface, and the conflict threatens to derail the delicate process that will decide one boy’s fate, according to a press release.

This will be the first high school show in the Valley produced at Silver Line, bringing together the talents of public, private and home school students in the Shenandoah Valley.
