Police: No charges expected after 17-year-old shot dead in Chesapeake on Saturday

CHESAPIK, Virginia (Wavy) – Chesapeake Police say they do not expect charges for the death of a 17-year-old boy who was shot dead in Chesapeake last weekend.

The shooting took place on Saturday around 1pm in the parking lot of the Camelot Community Center. The next day the victim died of his injuries.

Police tell us they have no evidence that the teenager attended Chesapeake School.

We turned to Chesapeake schools and are waiting for an answer.

Chesapeake police said all involved had been identified.

They are not looking for suspects and are not waiting for charges. On Monday, police also said they no longer felt threatened by the population. At this time, they do not explain further.
