Rockingham County – Virginia State Police said a man was killed in a crash in Rockingham County last week, according to a press release.
Police said a traffic accident occurred Tuesday, Feb. 8 at 6:46 a.m. on East Point Road near Bethel Church Road.
The release says the 2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee was moving north on East Point Road when it crossed a double yellow centerline and collided head-on with a 2019 Dodge Caravan moving south.
Dodge driver 47-year-old David L. Chang of Shenandoah died at the scene. Police said he was not wearing a seat belt.
The driver of the jeep, a 28-year-old man from Shenandoah, received minor injuries in the crash and was taken to the University of Virginia Medical Center in Charlottesville for treatment. He was wearing a seat belt.
The passenger of the jeep, a 37-year-old man, received minor injuries and was also taken to Charlottesville Hospital. Police said he was also wearing a seat belt.
Charges have been filed and an investigation into the crash is ongoing.
