NEWPORT NEWS, Virginia (WAVY) – P-Funk play on the peninsula on Thursday night.
Legendary George Clinton and Parliament Funcodelik come to the Good Vibes concert hall downtown at Oyster Point. The show starts at 7:30 p.m., and as of Thursday morning, tickets are still available for $ 75.
The general funkmaster, who is now 80 years old, actually planned to retire after the farewell tour in 2019 (when he was awarded Lifetime Achievement Award from the Academy of Recording Arts), but announced a “non-pension” last summer.
“I feel good as hell now.” he said Rolling Stone in July 2021. “So when I go on stage, yeah, cool. “You came out playing.”
The stop in Newport News is one of the last in the United States before heading to Europe.
To prepare see Clinton’s Tiny Desk concert from 2018. He also said a possible battle of Verzuz is under development.
