Duke Street in Alexandria, Virginia, reopened about eight hours after a major accident near the Alexandria Commons Mall that closed part of it on Wednesday.

Duke Street in Alexandria, Virginia, reopened about eight hours after a major accident near the Alexandria Commons Mall that closed part of it on Wednesday.

Alexandria police at 8:30 a.m. tweeted that Duke Street between Quaker Lane and Roth Street had reopened.



Police said an accident with severe injuries occurred after midnight.

No additional details were reported by police.
