Portsmouth, Virginia (WAVY) – While cities on Hampton Roads celebrate Washington’s birthday (also known as President’s Day) on Feb. 21, community members can expect a change in the city’s activities.
Here’s what you need to know in your community:
All Chesapeake City offices, courts, community centers, libraries and the Chesapeake Visitor Center will be closed on Monday, February 21, in honor of Presidential Day. There will be no changes in garbage collection and disposal schedules.
On Monday, February 21, city offices in Hampton will be closed for President’s Day. This includes all courts, the Treasury, the Revenue Commissioner, the DMV Select and the Peninsula County Health and Clinic.
Schools, libraries, community centers, district centers, the Hampton Water Center and the Fort Monroe Swimming Pool will be closed on Monday, February 21.
On Monday, February 21, there will be no regular recycling, garbage, bulky garbage and yard waste. On Wednesday, February 23, waste collection will be held on Mondays.
The cleanup scheduled for Monday, February 21 will be done on Wednesday, February 23. The cleanup scheduled for Wednesday, February 23 will be done on Friday, February 25th.
All city offices, libraries and the Newport News Operations Center will be closed on Monday, February 21st.
On Monday, February 21, the removal of garbage, secondary raw materials and bulk waste will not be. All fees for the week will be deferred for one day.
The regional animal shelter “Peninsula” will be open for adoption from 12.00 to 17.00 on February 21.
Norfolk government offices, including libraries and recreation centers, are closed on Monday, February 21, according to Washington’s birthday.
On Monday, February 21, also closed the complex of consolidated courts, the Commissioner for Revenue, the Treasury and the Department of Health Norfolk.
Applications for the collection on Tuesday, February 22, must be submitted by 3 pm on Friday, February 18.
The SPSA Norfolk transfer station will be open on Monday, February 21, from 8 am to noon to receive hazardous household waste.
Portsmouth City offices, libraries and museums will be closed on Monday, February 21, in honor of Washington’s birthday.
On Monday, February 21, there will be no garbage, recycling and garbage collection, and on Wednesday, February 23, all routes will be collected on Monday.
All public libraries and museums in Portsmouth will be closed on Monday, February 21st.
Due to George Washington Day, Suffolk City offices will be closed on Monday, February 21, 2022. Normal business hours will resume on Tuesday, February 22, 2022, at 8:30 p.m. The city celebrates all holidays determined by the state. George Washington Day is considered a holiday for the Commonwealth of Virginia, and all state offices are closed on this day.
The Suffolk Department of Public Works will collect garbage as scheduled on Feb. 22and until February 25th. TFC Recycling will also conduct routine waste collection routes from 22 Februaryand until February 25th. The Suffolk Department of Public Works reminds that garbage must be placed on the sidewalk no later than 7 a.m. on the day of collection. The South East Civil Service (SPSA) transfer station in Suffolk and the regional landfill will open on Monday, February 21street from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m.
Suffolk Transit will run on a regular schedule on Monday, February 21ststreet.
The Suffolk Parks & Recreation Joint Use Recreation Centers (Kings Fork, Creekside, Northern Shores, Oakland, Booker T. Washington, Mack Benn, Jr.) will be closed Monday, Feb. 21.street. East Suffolk Recreation Center and Whaleyville Recreation Center will be closed on Monday, February 21street. The Suffolk Parks and Recreation Administration will be closed on Monday, February 21ststreet.
Four major Suffolk Parks (Lone Star Lakes, Lake Meade, Sleepy Hole, Bennett’s Creek) will remain open on Monday, February 21street; however the park duty officer will not be on duty.
The Suffolk Art Gallery will be closed on Monday, February 21ststreet.
All Suffolk City Libraries (Morgan Memorial, North Suffolk, Waiting) will be closed on Monday, February 21street. The Morgan and North Suffolk Memorial Libraries will reopen at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 22and.
On Monday, February 21, the Suffolk Visitor Center will be openstreet from 9.00 to 17.00 Suffolk Railway Station Railway Museum will open on Monday, February 21street from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
On Monday, February 21, the Suffolk Executive Airport terminal will be unmannedstreet. The airfield, self-service fuel island and restaurant will be open on Monday, February 21street.
On Monday, February 21, 2022, the offices of the city of Williamsburg will be closed. This includes all offices in the municipal building on Lafayette Street.
The Quarterpath Recreation Center will be closed from Saturday, February 19 to Monday, February 21. Waller Mill Park will be open normally from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.
