Want the perfect tree? Here is a list of Christmas tree farms to choose from this year in the valley.
You pick and cut, baled trees, twine available, Christmas shop, toilets and refreshments. Santa Claus plans to come for a photo with the family from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. on December 3-4.
Varieties of Christmas tree: Pine, common pine, common spruce, blue spruce, concolor fir.

Directions: From Staunton, take Route 250 west toward Monterey for 16 miles. Turn left onto Route 629 (Deerfield Valley Road) and drive 3 1/2 miles. Turn left onto Route 688 (Old Parkersburg Turnpike) and drive 200 yards to the right and turn onto Route 689 (Bear Wallow Flat). Follow signs for Boys’ Home Tannehill Tree
Bring your family to the farm to cut your own tree (or we’ll cut it for you) and enjoy a cup of hot cider and gingerbread.
Varieties of Christmas tree: White pine and Scotch pine grow in the fields of Carter Coffman’s farm. For our Fraser fir lovers, fresh cut Fraser firs are imported from Craig County.

Sawn Christmas trees, saws provided, wreaths. Help when needed. Twine for tying in the trunk or on the roof of the car.

Open: The day after Thanksgiving at noon. Weekdays: from 14:00 to 17:00; from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Saturday; noon to 5 p.m. Sunday
Directions: From Staunton, take Route 250 west 6 miles to Churchville; left on Route 42 South 0.2 miles, left on Green Hill Lane (Route 836), 1 mile to farm gate.
You choose and cut, cut down the Christmas trees, saws are provided, if necessary, help with cutting.
Varieties of Christmas tree: White pine, blue spruce and Canaan fir; pre-cut Fraser fir. White pine, hand cut, 6-9 feet; wreaths and ropes.
Open: from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday; noon to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday, beginning the Friday after Thanksgiving through the Sunday before Christmas.

Directions: 9 miles south of Staunton or 20 miles north of Lexington on Route 11. Right by Riverheads High School on Route 701 and 1.3 miles to Bethel Church. Right on Route 693 and 7/10 miles to the first farm on the left. From I-81, take exit 213 or 213-B; then north a few yards to Route 701. Turn left onto Route 701 and follow directions above.
Turk Mountain Tree Farm
You pick and cut, saws provided. Saws, twine and net available.
Varieties of Christmas tree: White pine, Scots pine, Scots pine, Norway spruce, White spruce and Douglas fir.
Open: From December 1 to 21, from 10:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. every day, including Sundays. No need to call; it’s self-service when no one is around.

Directions: 5 miles north of Waynesboro on the East Side Highway (Rt.340), right on Purple Cow Road, the farm is 3/4 mile. on the left.
