FISHERSVILLE — Augusta Health celebrated the completion of the Outpatient Pavilion with an open house and ribbon cutting on Tuesday, Jan. 11.
Groundbreaking for the pavilion was done on September 16, 2020, and the last beam was laid during Filling ceremony October 7, 2021. After final preparations and staff training, the new pavilion will open for patients on January 16.
Augusta’s Ambulatory Health Care Pavilion is designed to improve the region’s access to ambulatory care and meet the growing demand for ambulatory services both locally and nationally, according to a news release. The 60,000-square-foot facility is designed not only for ambulatory care, but is built on a continuum of care, integrating imaging, surgery and breast care into one location.
“Over the years, as the need for surgical and diagnostic care at Augusta Health grew, it became clear that specialty outpatient facilities would be essential to Augusta Health’s community-based care delivery model,” said Mary Mannix, Augusta Health president and CEO. “And so when the board of directors considered the need and the commitment, they unanimously committed the funds to this community asset. In addition, we received charitable gifts from the community.

“This commitment was reinforced by a team of leading providers, clinicians and team members who, together with CannonDesign, set out to develop the ideal permanent ambulatory facility for the region and local community. Even when supply chain issues threatened us with significant delays, the partners at Barton Malow and CannonDesign, led by Project Manager Mitch Rossing of JLL, came together to keep the project on schedule and within budget.”
