After the water was cut off in Chovan County, a boiling recommendation was issued

Chowan County, North Carolina (Wavy) – Brigades are currently working to restore the water shutdown that is causing the low pressure and shutdown in Chowan County on Saturday.

County authorities on Saturday issued a recommendation to boil after water cuts in the Shannonhouse Road area, which affects water consumers across the U.S. 17 highways in the county.

Periods of low pressure or its absence in the distribution system increase the possibility of back siphoning and the introduction of bacteria into the water supply system.

Officials advise residents to boil all the water used for human consumption when the water is completely recovered, including drinking, ice making, brushing teeth, washing dishes and cooking. Residents are also advised to use bottled water for now.

The approximate time for water recovery has not yet been reported.
